How We Fund Our Lab
Network testing requires real equipment — spectrum analyzers, bare-metal servers, and a rotating inventory of enterprise and consumer routers. To fund our testing labs and keep our speed test tools free, we use affiliate marketing. Our editorial and testing teams operate completely independently from our monetisation team. Our network engineers (CCNAs) do not know, nor do they care, which router or VPN pays the highest commission.
How We Make Money
When you click on a link to purchase a router on Amazon, sign up for a VPN, or check availability for an ISP from our platform, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. This is called affiliate marketing. The commission does not change the price you pay.
rel="sponsored" Link Marking
All affiliate and paid links on VelocityVerify are marked with the HTML attribute rel="sponsored" in compliance with Google's link quality guidelines. This signals to search engines and users that the link may result in compensation to us. You can verify this in your browser by right-clicking any "Buy on Amazon" or similar button and inspecting the link's HTML. Sponsored links also carry rel="noopener" for security and always open in a new tab.
Google AdSense Advertising
We display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google uses cookies and device information to show relevant ads based on your browsing history on this and other websites. Advertisers purchasing space through Google's network have no influence on our editorial content, test scores, or product recommendations. Data Before Dollars
We routinely publish negative reviews of heavily marketed routers if their firmware is unstable, or downgrade VPNs if our packet-sniffing tools detect a DNS leak. If a product fails our bench tests, we will say so, regardless of any affiliate partnership.
If an ISP or brand sponsors a post, it will be unambiguously flagged as "Sponsored Content" and will not be factored into our editorial rankings or speed test leaderboards.
